Texan Volleyball Begins the Year ON FIRE.
Big congrats to the Lady Texan Volleyball team, winners of the Tex Fest tournament, held on their home court.
It really wasn't even close. Wimberley didn't lose a set in their six matches, sweeping Needville, Peaster, and Floresville to take home the trophy. That makes them 7-0 for the start of the season!
The Texan volleyballers head west on Tuesday to take on the Johnson City Eagles at 7pm. You can hear them live on KWVH 94.3FM, online, or by downloading the Apple App Store or Google Play app.

The Wimberley Square Gets PAVED Next Week!
If all goes as planned, construction will start on the complete repaving of the Wimberley Square exactly one week from today.
Ranch Road 12 will remain open, but parking will be extremely limited in the heart of the Square for most of the week. Plan accordingly and make it a point to visit our downtown businesses and show them your support. The Oak Park lot or Community Center are the best places to park.
The Square's roads have been pocked, patched, and pocked again over the years. In addition to normal wear-and-tear, a lot of work was done in recent years to install water mains, making our streets pretty torn up. The area should reopen before the Labor Day weekend.
This will be a great upgrade to one of our most-loved parts of the city.
Wimberley Old Kyle Road Project is Part of Massive
Hays County Construction Bond
The Hays County Commissioners Court approved a nearly $440 million infrastructure bond for Hays County. Of that amount, nearly $5 million is earmarked for the "Old Kyle Road Safety Project."
The road bond will be up for approval by voters in the November election. The entire bond will either be approved or voted down. Many of the projects are in eastern Hays County, which has experienced massive growth in the last decade.
Although the Old Kyle Road project has garnered much discussion in recent years, officials say there's no plan set in stone yet. Expect there to be a fresh round of debate and public input if the bond is passed.
State of the City Luncheon is September 18
Mayor Jim Chiles will deliver the annual State of the City Luncheon on Wednesday, September 18 from 11am to 1pm. It's a great way to hear straight from city leadership about what's going on in our town.
We're being told that the Mayor will have some fun and exciting news to share during the event, so stay tuned for that!
The Wimberley Chamber is selling tickets to the luncheon on their website.
