Texan Girls Soccer Team to Play for State Championship on Thursday Wimberley High School Will Be CLOSED.

The Wimberley High School Lady Texan Soccer team is headed to the 4A State Championship -- for the first time EVER! After an exciting win over El Campo in Friday night’s State Semifinal, the Lady Texans will now compete for the state title against Randall on Thursday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown.
To allow students and staff from Wimberley High School to travel and support the team, Wimberley High School will be closed on Thursday, April 10. However, Danforth Junior High, Jacob’s Well Elementary, and Blue Hole Primary will remain open and operate on their regular schedules.
The district says several important factors influenced the decision to close only WHS, including scheduled STAAR testing at Danforth and Jacob’s Well, as well as limited remaining instructional minutes at JWE — canceling school there would require adding another day to the calendar. Families with students at Danforth, JWE, or Blue Hole who choose to attend the championship match together will have their children’s absences excused.
Ticket information is online, or listen to all the action right here on KWVH. Let's rally behind the Lady Texans and wish them the best of luck as they chase the state title!
