Back-To-School Means Traffic Changes
It's back to school week! The Wimberley ISD begins classes this Thursday, so plan accordingly. That means everyone needs to adjust their schedules to account for more traffic. And remember: DO NOT pass stopped or slowing school buses, slow down in school zones, and be on the lookout for pedestrians.
If you are transporting kids to Danforth Junior High, you're going to want to familiarize yourself with some new traffic patterns in that area, as a result of construction funded by the 2025 bond package.
The biggest change will be the closure of the Danforth entrance off Carney Lane while the district’s new Fine Arts Center is under construction. Parents will still have two available routes for student drop-off and pick-up, with the best option depending on their direction of travel after leaving campus.

WISD says the adjustments are designed to maintain safe routes for drivers, students and pedestrians as construction continues across district campuses.

Celebrating 50 Good Neighbor Volunteers
Byron Eckols State Farm and KWVH are proud to have honored 50 Good Neighbor Volunteers over the past several years. Neighbors helping neighbors is at the core of what makes Wimberley great, and thank you to everyone who donates their time to make our Valley such a magical place.

VFW Post 6441 and KWVH Salute Our Veteran of the Week
This week VFW Post 6441 and KWVH salute Staff Sergeant Laura Fergeson. From 2006 to 2015, Laura served the Texas Army National Guard as a Combat Medic — answering the call not just to serve, but to heal.
In 2008 and 2009, she deployed to Iraq as a convoy medic, riding into danger to make sure others made it home. She then continued her service full-time with the Guard's medical readiness program, caring for soldiers long after the convoys stopped.
Today, Laura brings that same dedication home — building a life in wine and event planning, and serving her fellow veterans as Senior Vice-Commander of VFW Post 6441.
