Support KWVH, Burn Ban Back ON, and The Stars At Night...

Our Fall Pledge Drive Starts TODAY.

Wimberley Valley Radio needs your support now more than ever! Our KWVH Fall Pledge Drive starts today and runs through October 16. We’re counting on you to keep 100% local radio thriving.

Please, donate now! We rely on our incredible listeners to sustain our operations, and we’re inviting local supporters to pledge $50-$100 per month for a year. Sustaining supporters are truly the heartbeat of KWVH. If you'd rather make a one-time donation, we'll gratefully accept that, too. Don't delay, because the Lind Family Foundation has committed to matching the first $5,000 in donations!

Your contributions power KWVH’s locally produced shows, community information, and award-winning Texan Athletics coverage. Funds raised will also help complete our community podcast studio and invest in new technology.

Over 100 volunteers work tirelessly to help support more than 80 local nonprofits through on-air promotions. KWVH is a community radio station that is only funded through local and regional donors and underwriters.

Join us for our Pledge Drive celebration on October 16 at the Wimberley Community Center – we’ll have live music and free refreshments! Donate now at KWVH.org and help keep our community radio strong!

Burn Ban is ON.

After one of the driest Septembers on record, the Hays County Fire Marshal has reinstituted a county-wide burn ban

Use caution out there. We've been blessed to have an abundance of summer rain, but all that grass is beginning to dry out, making it easy for fire to spread quickly.

Now is a good time to review your wildfire preparation plan. Don't have one? Hays County CERT is a good resource for putting a plan together.

Meet the Men Behind the Texan Tailgate

The Texan Tailgate runs from 4pm to 6pm Friday evenings, and it's the ideal way to get your fix of Texan athletics right before kickoff or tipoff. The show is hosted by Gary Snoe and Darren Masur, two long-time friends that share a love of local sports.

You never know what you'll get on a Texan Tailgate broadcast -- it could be interviews with coaches, opposing coaches, players, band kids, or spirit section students. Whatever the case, you can count on smart and fun analysis to kick off your Friday night.

KWVH's Salwa Khan caught up with Gary and Darren to learn more.

Texans Roll... Again.

A big shout-out to the Texan Team Tennis squad, after they clinched the 26-4A District Championship last Wednesday evening in Ingram. They're ranked number one in the 4A district, and they'll begin their playoff run next week.

Meanwhile, the Texan volleyball team began league play with a win against Navarro last Friday. They're also number one in the district and will play Davenport at home tomorrow night. Go cheer them on!

The Texan football team is back on track with a convincing district win over Navarro, 47-21. They have the week off and then they'll host Salado on October 11 for the big homecoming game.

Texan Pride!!

Enjoy the Stars, Wimberley.

We're living in the reigning International Dark Sky Place of the Year, Wimberley! That means we need to get out and appreciate the beautiful night skies. And as luck would have it, Wimberley Dark Skies has us covered with a Star Party this Saturday, October 5 at the Blue Hole! It's totally free and the Texas State Astronomy Club will be sharing their telescopes and knowledge. You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket, a picnic, and a flashlight.

October is Hill Country Night Sky Month, so click here if you want to learn more about other events and how you can help preserve the Hill Country's night skies.
