Celebrate Independence Day the Wimberley Way!

Get ready for a week of Fourth of July fun, Wimberley! Here's a rundown of all the Independence Day weekend celebrations in the Valley... be sure to take full advantage of all the great ways to celebrate our nation's birthday.
The Best Little Parade in Texas kicks off the festivities at 10am on Friday. This year's event features a retro theme, with floats representing different decades. Roads begin closing at 9am, so be sure to stake out your spot early. And be sure to look for the KWVH float!
The 79th Wimberley VFW Rodeo runs nightly from July 3-5 this year (that's Thursday, Friday and Saturday... NOT Sunday). See top-tier rodeo action while supporting veterans and community programs. Gates open at 530pm, mutton bustin' for the kids starts at 7pm, the rodeo starts at 8, with fireworks to follow every night. And the VFW dance returns Saturday night after the rodeo.
On the afternoon of the 4th, enjoy the 13th annual July Fourth Patriotic Concert, presented by the Wimberley Community Chorus and the Hill Country Community Band. The band strikes up at 3pm at the First Baptist Church.
Market Day is this Saturday, July 5th. There are nearly 500 booths selling everything under the sun, and there's plenty of good food, cold beverages, and free music. Stop by the KWVH booth and say hello!
The monthly Coffee & Cars happens on Sunday. See dozens of hot rods, muscle cars, sports cars, exotic, classic trucks, or unique rides. The show runs from 8am to 11am outside of Blanco Brew.
On Monday, if you're worn out from entertaining, stop by the Community Center for the monthly Bean Supper. It's free and a great way to connect, share a warm meal, and foster fellowship among our neighbors.
New Shows Debuting on KWVH!

Not one, but TWO new shows are coming to KWVH!
Beginning this Sunday at 10am, tune in for Couch Time With Cat, a show about mental health and wellness hosted by Catia Hernandes Holm, a local best-selling author and therapist. Each episode offers a gentle space to explore life’s emotional landscape—with honesty, humor, and the kind of warmth that reminds you: you’re not alone.
And beginning Monday, July 7, the TK Show with Tim Kiesling launches from 3pm to 6pm every afternoon. Enjoy great music, special guests, interviews, and great music features like the 4-20 Format Break, Live at Five, behind-the-music segments, national artist stories, and much more! On Monday, Tim will spin the new Pat Green song "Two Hands" and hear from Pat Green himself.
KWVH and VFW Post 6441
Salute Our Veteran of the Week

KWVH and VFW Post 6441 salute Major James Jones, whose nearly four decades of service in the U.S. Army and National Guard reflect extraordinary dedication and leadership.
From 1985 through his retirement in 2024, Major Jones served with distinction as first an enlisted man, and then an Infantry Officer in Germany, Iraq, Texas, and throughout the continental United States.
His long and decorated career embodies the Army’s core values—loyalty, duty, and honor. A 26-year resident of Wimberley, Major Jones is not only a committed soldier but also a steadfast member of the community he calls home.
