Texan Football Slays the Dragons.
Texan football passed its first road test of the season, drubbing the Long Creek Dragons in New Braunfels on Friday night, 56-9. A halftime weather delay couldn't even stop the Texans from taking the first-ever win at the new Dragon Stadium. Another road game awaits Friday, when they face Lampasas at 7pm. Texan Tailgate begins at 4pm, with pregame at 6:30.
Meanwhile, Texan volleyball beat La Vernia in four games. They'll face the Stockdale Brahmas on Tuesday at 6pm. The first volleyball broadcast on KWVH is set for next Tuesday, September 22, when the girls host Bandera.

Wednesday is WAGsDay with KWVH!
Join KWVH's Tanya Tyler and WAG Rescue on Wednesday at Brookshire Brothers from 11am to 1pm. You can learn about the dog adoption options and grab a bite from the BB deli.
Since 2009, the Wimberley Adoption Group and Rescue has partnered with many central Texas shelters to take in any dog or puppy, regardless of their age or condition, and provide them with the vet care, socialization and training they need to get adopted.
Even if you aren't looking for a new forever friend, WAG can use your help, so stop by and donate a few barks... er... bucks.
Byron Eckols State Farm & KWVH Salute our Good Neighbor of the Month
This month, we salute Brenda Jarden Holter as Wimberley’s volunteer of the month! Brenda is a retired lieutenant colonel US Army, and has volunteered for more than 50 yeqrs for Lions Club, Hays County Dispute Resolution Center, and the ESGR.
Our non profit highlight is the Wimberley Big Band. The big band is an ensemble
of volunteer community musicians who wish to supply the Wimberley Valley with quality big band dance and jazz music.
Our KWVH volunteer of the month is Jim Trussell. Jim is our past board president and hosts “Jazz Lines”, a 2 hour contemporary and modern jazz music show heard Sunday night at 8PM.

VFW Post 6441 and KWVH Salute Our Veteran of the Week
VFW Post 6441 and KWVH salute U.S. Navy Lieutenant Mark Adleman, whose service took him around the world and into some of the most challenging moments of his generation.
Mark served three years on active duty and three years in the inactive reserve, working as both a Communications Officer and an Electrical Officer. His assignments included California, Hawaii, Vietnam, and the Philippines. He also served in the Persian Gulf during the 1974 oil embargo.
After completing his military service, Mark continued a life of service to his community. Now retired, he remains active with the Lions Club, the Wimberley Institute of Cultures, and Cub Scout Pack 127.
