Keeping the Valley Connected

Texan Football Faces Lago Vista on Friday.

Texan football remains unbeaten, with our boys dismantling Lago Vista 27-7 on Friday. Next up the Texans host 5-3 Manor New Tech in another divisional matchup this Friday under the lights. Pregame is at 7pm, followed by kickoff at 7:30pm. Be sure to join the KWVH crew live at the Neon Armadillo at 4pm for the Texan Tailgate!

Meanwhile, it's playoff season for volleyball! The girls closed out their regular season at 41-4, by dismantling Canyon Lake 3-0 on Friday. They'll face Uvalde High on Thursday evening at 7pm in Schertz in the bi-district round, and you can hear all the action on Wimberley Valley Radio.

And don't forget --- you can catch up on all things Texan this evening at 6:30pm for the Wes Lambert Coach's Show on KWVH 94.3.

GO TEXANS!

Get Ready for the KWVH Thanks For Giving Radiothon!

Get ready! Wimberley Valley Radio is kicking off its Thanks for Giving Radiothon November 7–19, with a goal of raising $75,000 to support the Valley's community radio station. The nearly two-week fundraising campaign will feature special on-air appeals, matching donation opportunities, and recognition of the listeners and supporters who keep KWVH going strong.

It's been two years since KWVH held a full-fledged pledge drive, and this year's Radiothon is an opportunity to celebrate the generosity of our community while securing the resources needed to keep local radio thriving.

As a nonprofit, listener-supported station, KWVH depends on contributions to deliver local news, emergency information, community conversations, and an eclectic mix of music you won't find anywhere else. Unlike commercial stations, KWVH exists to serve the Wimberley Valley, not advertisers or corporate interests.

If Wimberley Valley Radio is part of your daily routine, now is the time to show your support. Every contribution, large or small, helps keep local voices on the air and ensures KWVH remains a trusted, independent resource for our community.

If you simply can't wait for the official start of our Radiothon, that's fine! Just mash the button below and you can donate today!

Harvest Moon Dinner Coming Up Fast!

The Wimberley Institute of Cultures (WIC) hosts its annual Harvest Moon Dinner & Dance on Sunday, November 8, at historic Fischer Dance Hall. Doors open at 5:30pm, with delicious 'cue from Black's BBQ and live music by Whiskey Two Step.

More than just a fun evening, the Harvest Moon event supports WIC's mission of preserving and celebrating the Wimberley Valley's rich history and cultural heritage. Proceeds help support the Wimberley Valley Museum, historic preservation efforts, and educational programs that introduce new generations to our community's fascinating past.

Come hungry, bring your two-steppin' boots, and support a great local cause! Visit their website for more information and tickets.

VFW Post 6441 and KWVH Salute Our Veteran of the Week

VFW Post 6441 and KWVH salute U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Michael Lukowiak, who dedicated 24 years to serving our nation as a Cryptologic Linguist, specializing in Vietnamese and Korean languages. Stationed in Texas, Maryland, Thailand, and the Republic of Korea, he often worked directly with the National Security Agency, supporting our nation’s intelligence mission.

After retiring from the Air Force, Michael continued serving others through an 18-year career with the State of Texas, working with delinquent youth and helping young people find a better path forward.

Today, retired in Wimberley, Michael remains committed to his community through VFW Post 6441, Scout Troop 127, the Barnabas Connection, and the Wimberley Valley Art League.

Master Sergeant Michael Lukowiak has spent a lifetime serving his country and his neighbors. We thank him for his service, his dedication, and his continued contributions to our community.
