Texan Football Faces Lago Vista on Friday.

Texan football melted the Austin Achieve Polar Bears last Friday, with a 77-0 whooping, extending their record to a perfect 6-0 this season. Next up the Texans travel to Lago Vista for a critical district test. Kickoff is 7:30pm, with the Texan Tailgate live at 4pm, and pregame at 7pm.

Meanwhile, volleyball resumes on Tuesday night at 6pm in an away series at Davenport. They closed out last week defeating Tivy 3-1 and Fredericksburg 3-0. Their season record is an amazing 39-4.

The Wimberley team tennis season has come to an end in the Class 4A Region IV semifinals, one victory short of the regional championship match. Last Thursday, they lost to Corpus Christi Tuloso-Midway, 10–6. Still a very successful season!

Big Weekend in the Valley Coming Up!

From spooky fun to a longtime community fundraiser, the Wimberley Valley has a busy Saturday ahead on October 24, with two popular fall events offering something for everyone.

BOO! Hole Halloween takes over Blue Hole Regional Park from 4 to 9pm, featuring a trick-or-treat trail, carnival games, live music, costume contests, photo booths, and a haunted trail after dark. This family-friendly Halloween celebration is free to attend.

Meanwhile, the 23rd Annual Hunter's Night Out, hosted by the Wimberley Knights of Columbus, gets underway at 5:30pm under the big tent at St. Mary's Catholic Church. It features barbecue, raffles, and a live auction, with proceeds benefiting local charities and community organizations. Stop by the KWVH tent and say hello.

Whether you're dressing up the kids or gathering with friends for a great cause, Saturday promises plenty of fun and community spirit in the Valley -- and the weather should be great!

Wednesday is WAGs-Day at Brookshire Brothers

Join Tanya Tyler and the WAG team this Wednesday, October 21 from 11am - 1pm in the Brookshire Brothers parking lot for some four-legged fun. Deli lunch specials will be available on site, as well as a few furry friends looking to for their forever home.

Since 2009, the Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue has been partnering with Central Texas shelters to take in any dog or puppy, regardless of their age or condition. They are given vet care, socialization, and training that they need to get adopted. They've helped facilitate over 2400 dog adoptions.

Come on out -- you never know, you may find your next canine companion!

VFW Post 6441 and KWVH Salute Our Veteran of the Week

VFW Post 6441 and KWVH salute U.S. Air Force Sergeant Garry Klose, who served five years as a reciprocating engine mechanic, keeping aircraft running and ready for service. His assignments took him to Texas, Florida, and Kansas, as well as Vietnam and Thailand. He also served temporary duty in Laos, training Laotian troops on behalf of Air America, an organization associated with the CIA.

After his military service, Garry continued protecting and serving others through a 30-year civilian career in law enforcement. Now retired in Wimberley, Garry remains committed to his community through his service with VFW Post 6441 and as a member of the Wimberley Valley Rangers.

Sergeant Garry Klose has dedicated his life to service, both in uniform and at home. We thank him for his military service, his years in law enforcement, and his continued contributions to our community.
