Emergency Preparedness Fair this Saturday

The 4th Annual Wimberley Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair is happening this Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10am to 1pm on the VFW grounds. This free event is all about helping the community get ready for emergencies—whether it’s a big storm, a wildfire, or another unexpected disaster.

With over 35 booths featuring first responders, law enforcement, non-profits, and emergency management experts, there will be plenty of hands-on learning and practical tips to take home. If you’ve ever wondered how to prepare for those first crucial hours after a disaster, this is the perfect place to get informed.Last year’s event brought in over 500 attendees, and it’s only growing! The fair is focused on making sure families know what to do in the first 72 hours after a crisis, with checklists, survival kits, and expert advice on what to pack in a Go Bag.But it’s not all serious business—there’s plenty of fun for the whole family too! Expect to see fire trucks, helicopters, live demonstrations, and even adorable mini horses and rescue dogs from Wimberley Adoption and Rescue Group (WAG). There’s also a speed pitch competition, delicious food, shaved ice, and prizes up for grabs.

KWVH will be broadcasting live, so stop by and say hello. Hope to see you there!

KWVH 10th Anniversary Design Contest: Last Chance to Enter!

It's your last chance to enter! We’re marking a decade of KWVH with a special design contest, and we want you to be part of it! We’re looking for a limited-edition graphic for t-shirts and posters—something that captures the heart of Wimberley and the spirit of KWVH. The deadline to submit has been extended to March 28.

This anniversary is more than just a birthday—it’s a tribute to the community that built KWVH. The station was born out of the 2015 Memorial Day floods, a time when Wimberley needed a reliable voice. Since then, KWVH has been here for emergency updates, local stories, great music, and everything that makes this town special.

This contest is open to everyone, so if you’ve got an idea, we’d love to see it! Think you have the perfect design? Get all the details, application, and rules. Let’s make this milestone one to remember!

Texan Girls Soccer Advances in Playoffs

Chalk up another W for the girls soccer team! They beat Lago Vista 5-0 last Thursday evening, and they'll face the Pleasanton Eagles on Tuesday. Historically, Wimberley has dominated Pleasanton, with a 9-1 record dating back to April 2019.

Meanwhile, on the diamond... Texan softball is undefeated in district play, drubbing the Bandera Bulldogs 17-2. They play at Fredericksburg on Tuesday. The baseball team will face rivals Canyon Lake on Tuesday after beating the Thorndale 9-8 in a close one.

Tune in to KWVH as the Lady Texan soccer team continues its playoff run for play-by-play and the pre-game Texan Tailgate. Baseball and softball coverage will follow.

His service continued in the U.S. Air Force from 1983 to 1992 as a Munitions Maintenance Specialist, ensuring the safety and readiness of our nation’s defense.
