Experts predict that up to 90% of the US population would starve to death within 60 days in the event of a total electrical grid failure. That is a grim prediction. Starvation from lack of food and water availability from the usual sources...the store down the street. All infrastructure and systems would shut down quickly. We would be on our own to fend for ourselves and our community. Most of us can't think that far ahead. Many of us don't want to.
What you should think about and plan for is a back up power system of some kind for your home and family. Emergency experts suggest 14-30 days of back up power generation of some kind. The Empowered Community is focused on delivering intelligent information and resources to help you plan ahead for better sustainability, resilience, and peace of mind.
