Live Oak Community Clinic located at 401 Broadway in San Marcos is providing COVID booster vaccinations. To be eligible you must be at least eight months past your second Moderna or Pfizer vaccination. No appointment is needed, just show up Monday through Friday between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. or from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.


Wimberley’s veterans’ organizations, AMVETs Post 182, VFW Post 6441 and its Auxiliary are sponsoring the inaugural Wimberley Valley Chili Cook Off on Saturday, October 16. The Wimberley Players are looking for actors to haunt Pioneer Town this Halloween weekend. The Players are again partnering with 7A Ranch to create eerie haunted scenes at the resort including the new haunted Pioneer Town Train Ride of Terror. It’s not too early to sign up for the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Seventh Annual Birdies for Business golf tournament. The Chamber is looking for sponsors and players. Tuesday

Party Bridge Tuesdays at the Community Center. If you want to refresh or polish your bridge skills, Tuesday party bridge is for you. A friendly, supportive atmosphere awaits you at the Senior Center. Tuesdays, 11:45-4.

Wednesday

Join chamber of commerce members every Wednesday morning at 8 at the Wimberley Cafe for great networking opportunities and keeping up with what’s going on in the area. Bring lots of business cards.


Wednesday activities at the Community Center and Senior Lounge: 9 a.m. Zumba; 10 a.m. Tai Chi.


Visit the Wimberley Farmers Market every Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Visitor Center parking lot. Find fresh, whole foods like freshly picked seasonal vegetables and fruit, farm-fresh eggs, locally roasted coffee, homemade baked goods, honey, local goat cheese, handmade crafts and other items.


The Wimberley Village Library’s Adult Craft Lab is a year-round tinker and craft program held via Zoom at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. This week’s class is all about fun and easy leather earrings. Thursday

Alzheimer’s Texas Wimberley Caregivers Support Group. If you or someone you know are a caregiver for a person with dementia, consider joining the Wimberley Caregivers Support Group. It meets monthly in an informal setting to discuss the latest health news regarding Alzheimer’s disease. It is an opportunity to meet and share information with other caregivers who are traveling the same dementia journey. Caregivers need to be taken care of too! Meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the Wimberley Presbyterian Library, 956 FM 2325. For information contact Linda Germain, volunteer facilitator at 512-924-3661.


Circle of Friends is a memory support program that provides an enriched curriculum for clients with moderate memory loss. Activities include arts and crafts, exercise, storytelling, music and dance, drama and more. Circles of Friends meets Thursdays from 10 to 2 at the Wimberley Community Center. The program provides a safe, caring environment for participants while giving caregivers some “me” time. 512-847-1781.

Wimberley Community Tennis Association invites all tennis players regardless of skill level to the Wimberley high School tennis courts at 5 p.m.

Friday

The Wimberley Valley Museum is open to the public the first Friday and Saturday each month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is open at other times by appointment only. The museum is located in the Winters-Wimberley House adjacent to the Visitor Center and the Wimberley Community Center.


Friday night bingo at the VFW is a Wimberley tradition. Come out to the VFW Hall on Jacobs Well Road for bingo fun and good food every Friday. Early bird games start at 7:15 and regular bingo at 8.

Saturday
