Our Hill Country Neighbors Need Your Help
Once again, our neighbors in Kerr County and points west have been ravaged by deadly floodwaters, and once again, they need your help.
Please consider donating to relief agencies like the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. Or, if you have some free time, Mercy Chefs is fielding volunteers, but there are just a few spots left.
These folks were finally getting their footing after last year's devastation... terrible that it happened again.
Wimberley Opry Showcases Afternoon of Talent
What a fun time yesterday afternoon at the Wimberley Opera House in Pioneer Town at the 7A Ranch!
The Wimberley Opry featured performances by Michael James, Jim Hartwell, Ginger Brown and the Hill Country Honeys in the intimate, old-time setting of the Pioneer Town Opera House. KWVH broadcasted a portion of the show, and Coach Smith was master of ceremonies.
For KWVH, the live broadcast was another opportunity to showcase local talent while connecting listeners with the people and music that help give the Wimberley Valley its distinctive character.
Barnabas Back-To-School Fiesta Returns August 8th
The Barnabas Connection will host its 20th Annual Back-to-School Fiesta on Saturday, August 8, from 8:30am to 4pm. The annual event helps approximately 500 students living within Wimberley ISD boundaries start the new school year prepared and excited to learn by providing backpacks, grade-specific school supplies and access to other community resources.
Barnabas is once again inviting the community to help by volunteering, making a monetary contribution or donating needed school supplies. In-kind donations can also be purchased through the organization’s Amazon Wishlist.
Families seeking assistance can find information through the Barnabas Connection, and those interested in supporting the program can visit the website or contact the Back-to-School Team at backtoschool@barnabasconnects.org.
The Fiesta is one more way the Wimberley Valley comes together to make sure local students have what they need for a successful start to the school year.

Hays County Seeking Input on Development Regulations Re-Write
Hays County is updating its Development Regulations and is inviting Wimberley-area residents to learn more and share their input at a community open house on Tuesday, July 28, at 6 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center.
The meeting will give residents an opportunity to learn about the rewrite process, ask questions and offer feedback on how future development should be managed across Hays County. County officials say public input will play an important role in shaping regulations that reflect the needs and priorities of local communities.

VFW Post 6441 and KWVH salute Private First Class Doug Koeppe
This week we salute Private First Class Doug Koeppe, who proudly served our nation in Germany from 1955 to 1957 as a Stenographer. During his time overseas, Doug not only fulfilled his military duties with dedication, but also embraced the opportunity to learn the German language—an experience that broadened his understanding of another culture and created memories that have lasted a lifetime.
A longtime Wimberley resident, Doug represents a generation of veterans
whose quiet service helped preserve peace during a pivotal time in history. Today, we proudly thank Private First Class Doug Koeppe for his service, his commitment, and his enduring example.
