Be extra careful this week --- especially tomorrow --- as wildfire risks in the Wimberley Valley are at their peak.
Ninety percent of wildfires are caused by people and their activities, meaning most are preventable. Help prevent wildfires by being cautious with any outdoor activity that may cause a spark.
Avoid burning anything outdoors, and don't use equipment that could spark a fire. Have a bag packed with supplies, prescriptions, important papers, personal needs, and priceless items, and know your evacuation routes. And of course, stay tuned to KWVH for any emergency information in our area.

Boys Cap Historic Hoops Season
The Texan boys basketball team came up short in the Regional Finals against La Marque on Friday, but they still made the deepest run in playoff history. And congratulations to Paul Gumbert-Mendoza, who broke the single season scoring record.

KWVH and VFW Post 6441 Salute Our Veteran of the Week
KWVH and VFW Post 6441 salute Colonel Michael Thibodeaux, U.S. Army (Ret.), for his 30 years of dedicated service to our nation.
From 1965 to 1995, Col. Thibodeaux served with distinction as an Infantry Officer, Intelligence Officer, and Judge Advocate, across the continental United States and in Vietnam. His leadership and commitment to duty exemplify the highest standards of military service.
Now retired, Col. Thibodeaux continues to serve his community with the same dedication he showed in uniform. He plays an active role in supporting VFW Post 6441, Market Days, and the Wimberley Institute of Cultures, enriching the lives of veterans and citizens alike.
We extend our deepest gratitude for his service, both in the military and in the community. Thank you, Col. Thibodeaux, for your unwavering commitment to our country and your fellow citizens.
