Wimberley Lions to Host Flash Flood
Preparedness Public Forum

The Lions Club is hosting a public symposium on flash flooding in the Wimberley Valley on Tuesday, September 2, at 6pm at the Community Center. The event will focus on progress that's been made in the ten years since our historic flood, and what might be in store for the future.
Panelists include Mike Jones, Director of Hays County Emergency Services, Ken Strange, Director of Wimberley EMS, Chris Robbins, Interim Fire Chief of Wimberley, Jeff Rasco, Mayor of Woodcreek, and Rebecca Minnick, Mayor Pro Tem of Wimberley, with Dr. Patrick Cox moderating.
Each panelist will outline how preparedness has improved since the Memorial Day 2015 floods, and what other enhancements need to be made. The panel will also field questions from the public.
The free forum is the first of four events hosted by the Wimberley Lions Club, which are designed to bring residents together to explore and discuss topics that matter most to the Wimberley Valley.
State of the City Luncheon This Wednesday

Wimberley Mayor Jim Chiles will give the State of the City presentation this Wednesday at the Community Center. The event is hosted by the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Chiles will provide updates on the city's growth, accomplishments, and future vision. It will run from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will be catered by Meat & Drink. The event is an opportunity for community members to hear directly from their mayor and learn about the direction Wimberley is heading.
