Sales Manager

 

Job Summary

KWVH 94.3 is a LPFM (low-power) non-profit community radio station airing on 94.3 FM and streaming on KWVH.ORG. We are entering our tenth year of on-air broadcasting in 2025. As a Sales Manager, you will represent the station to a community of potential corporate sponsors, advertisers, and small-business underwriters. You will have an opportunity to connect with business owners in Wimberley and surrounding communities like San Marcos, Kyle, Dripping Springs, Buda, and South Austin who want to promote their products and services to residents in those areas.

The broadcast signal of KWVH reaches up to 100,000 households via its FM signal, and additionally reaches hundreds of thousands more via our streaming signal and App.

The programming mix of KWVH is primarily Americana music with a Texas flair, featuring local artists and stars in various show segments covering music across rock n’ roll, country, classic rock, alternative, and jazz. KWVH also has extensive sports programming, representing the Wimberley Independent School District, home of the Championship Texans, with live broadcasts of football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, and softball teams.

You will be responsible for creating and selling packages for local business underwriters, regional and national advertisers, event sponsorships, and studio time for podcasters.

You will be compensated with a salary plus commission plan commensurate with your performance.

 

KWVH LP FM 94.3

KWVH is a Low Power FM that can be heard at 94.3 FM with a terrestrial reach of 8 -10 miles around Wimberley and Woodcreek.  KWVH can also be heard through streaming at KWVH.org, and through our iPhone app KWVH, or the TuneIn Radio App.  KWVH has been broadcasting since the Memorial Day Flood of 2015.   KWVH offers the Wimberley Community over 65 hours per week of live and local radio programs produced by a group of 55 volunteers and two full time staff Members.   KWVH also has a partnership with the Wimberley Independent School District and is the play by play voice of many Wimberley High School Sports Teams.    KWVH is truly Wimberley and Woodcreek’s Community Radio station with a mission to inform, entertain and to bring the community together.

 

Qualifications

A College Degree in Communications, Marketing or Business is preferred but not required. Previous experience in media sales is a plus but not required   Having a fund raising background in non profits is a significant plus. Written and verbal communication skills, social media skills, and some ability to navigate through the website to co-ordinate underwriting campaigns are an important plus. 

 

Pay and Benefit

The job is part time, hourly, and 20 hours per week.   Compensation includes an hourly rate, and the ability to earn more for achieving monthly, quarterly and annual goals and objectives.   At this time there are no Health or Retirement benefits.

 

Performance will be evaluated by the Vice President of the Wimberley Valley Radio Board and the General Manager of KWVH.  Evaluations will be done on a quarterly basis.

 

Job Location

It is a sales position!   The more face to face with your potential underwriters, the higher the degree of underwriting sales success.   This job will require some travel within the 25 mile radius of Wimberley.  You will need to spend  some time in the office to ensure that the underwriting sales process is working and to work with KWVH staff and certain volunteers. Some of this job can be done virtually.   COVID has created challenges.  We continue to monitor our sales process.    In person selling is the preferred and most successful mode of meeting and exceeding KWVH’s Underwriting goals.
